On November 3, 2017 in the premises of NSC “Olimpiyskiy”took place KYIV SMART CITY FORUM 2017 The founder of the Academy Irina Zapatrina participated in the event with the presentation. In particular, she reported about the initiation of PPP project “Implementation of the system for fixing violations in the field of road safety in the automatic mode in the city of Kyiv”, feasibility study and concept note for which have been prepared by the Academy.

On October 23-24, 2017 in Vienna (Austria) took place the third International Colloquium on Public-Private Partnership on updating and consolidating the UNCITRAL Legislative Guide on Privately Financed Infrastructure Projects and accompanying Legislative Recommendations and Model Legislative Provisions on Private Financed Infrastructure Projects.

October 25, 2017On October 23-24, 2017 in Vienna (Austria) took place the third International Colloquium on Public-Private Partnership on updating and consolidating the UNCITRAL Legislative Guide on Privately Financed Infrastructure Projects and accompanying Legislative Recommendations and Model Legislative Provisions on Private Financed Infrastructure Projects. Irina Zapatrina, the Founder of the Academy took part in the group that considered improving chapter II of the Guide “Project Risks and Government Support”.

On October 9, 2017 in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, under the chairmanship of the First Vice Prime Minister S. Kubiv, took place a meeting of the representatives of the Ministry with the consortium of Polenergia International, EDF Trading and Westinghouse, which have submitted a proposal for the implementation of a public-private partnership project “Energy Bridge “Ukraine-EU”

October 11, 2017On October 9, 2017 in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, under the chairmanship of the First Vice Prime Minister S. Kubiv, took place a meeting of the representatives of the Ministry with the consortium of Polenergia International, EDF Trading and Westinghouse, which have submitted a proposal for the implementation of a public-private partnership project “Energy Bridge “Ukraine-EU”, which could become the first PPP project implemented in accordance with the updated PPP legislation. The Project is aimed at the integration of the Ukrainian energy system into the ENTSO-E European grid and creation of a financial mechanism for the completion of power units 3 and 4 of Khmelnitsky NPP. The legal model for implementing the Project was structured by specialists of the Academy of Public Private Partnership and Baker McKenzie.

On September 6, 2017 in the framework of the UNDP Project “Removing Barriers to increase investment in Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings in Ukraine through the ESCO modality in Small and Medium Sized Cities” took place Round table “Problems of Financing of Ukraine’s Energy Modernization and their Solving”.

September 7, 2017On September 6, 2017 in the framework of the UNDP Project “Removing Barriers to increase investment in Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings in Ukraine through the ESCO modality in Small and Medium Sized Cities” took place  Round table “Problems of Financing of Ukraine’s Energy Modernization and their Solving”. September 4, 2017On August 30, 2017, Irina Zapatrina, the Founder of the Academy took part in negotiations with Henry Shterenberg, General Manager of the Ukrainian company “Ukrainian Global Trade & Investor, Inc.”, conducted by Sergey Savchuk, the Head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine The parties have discussed the prospects of cooperation in the field of energy production from waste based on  public-private partnership in Ukraine.

June 14, 2017On May 30, 2017 the Academy of Public-Private Partnership has signed Cooperation Agreement with NGO “Territory Development Agency” The agreement provides for cooperation in areas such as strategic planning of territories’ development, development and implementation of public-private partnerships, cooperation with representatives of programs of international financial and technical assistance to Ukraine, development and implementation of joint grant projects, attracting potential investors for the development of territories learning and adapting best international practice.

June 6, 2017On 29-30 May 2017 in Kyiv (Hotel Alfavito) took place International Conference “Modernization of infrastructure in Ukraine: new opportunities for private sector participation” The conference was supported by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine. Organizers: Academy of Public-Private Partnership, ACTIO Law firm,  Ukrainian PPP Development Support Center. Partners of the event: Territory Development Agency, Dornier Consulting International, Baker McKenzie. The conference was attended by about 80 delegates, including representatives of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, leading international experts on public-private partnership, representatives of public authorities and the private sector of Ukraine. Foreign countries were represented by participants from the US, UK, Germany, Spain, Poland, Portugal, UAE and others. At the conference it was discussed new international trends in the development of public-private partnership in the context of sustainable development goals of the United Nations, examined the role of public-private partnership in city development, presented the experience of PPP projects implementation in transport, energy, waste management, social infrastructure renovation and the possibility of implementing best international practices in Ukraine and prospects of implementation of projects in Ukraine on the basis of ...
