June 13, 2018On June 5-6, 2018 in the Column Hall of the Kyiv City State Administration took place International Conference ” Implementing People First PPPs: best international practice and recommendations for Ukraine and neighboring countries” The conference was organized by the UNECE, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the Kyiv City State Administration and Ukrainian PPP Development Support Centert in partnership with the IFC and the Swiss Cooperation Office in Ukraine with the support of LLC Safe Roads of Ukraine , Baker & McKenzie and PPP Academy. Irina Zapatrina, the Founder of the Academy  has made a presentation “Business and Government Cooperation for the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals: International Practice and Experience for Ukraine” and moderated Panel 4 “New Programs of International Infrastructure: Opportunities for Ukraine and Neighboring Countries”. On June 6, after the conference, the participants had an opportunity to visit the Data Processing Center (KP “Informatics”) and the Oleksandrivka Clinical Hospital in Kyiv. May 15, 2018On May 7-9, 2018 in Geneva (Switzerland) took place International PPP Forum “Scaling up: Meeting the challenges of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through People-First Public-Private Partnerships”   This Forum is the third event organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) on this topic. The purpose of the Forum is to exchange experience and create conditions for strengthening the role of private business in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through the application of a new PPP generation – the so-called People-First PPPs.   In the framework of this activity UNECE is working on improvement of approaches to initiating and implementing PPP projects, and also forms the Compendium of the best 500 PPP projects in the world that can be attributed to People-First PPPs. The PPP Project Unsolicited Proposal “Introduction of the system for fixation of violations in the field of road safety in the automatic mode in the city of Kyiv and in Ukraine”

May 3, 2018The PPP Project Unsolicited Proposal “Introduction of the system for fixation of violations in the field of road safety in the automatic mode in the city of Kyiv and in Ukraine” that was developed by Academy of Public-Private Partnership (Ukraine) for “LLC “Safe Roads of Ukraine” was included in the UNECE Database of Case Study Material of “500 People First PPPs” This Project Proposal will be presented on the International PPP Forum: “Scaling up: Meeting that challenges of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through people-first Public-Private Partnerships” in Geneva on May 5 – 7 this year.

April 11, 2018It was published Manual “Strengthening the Role of Business in Achieving the SDGs in Ukraine” prepared by Irina Zapatrina, the Founder of the Academy The Manual reviews business opportunities in achieving Sustainable Development Goals, assessed its potential in this area, considered the advantages for business from active participation in this process. It is also presented forms and mechanisms of business participation in achieving Sustainable Development Goals, analyzed how to apply the best world practices in this sphere in Ukraine. It is evaluated the role of public authorities in this process, provided recommendations for the development of partnerships between business and government in achieving national SDG indicators for Ukraine. The publication was prepared under the support of the German Government’s Green Economy Program implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine (UNDP) in the framework of the UNDP / GIZ Project “Support to the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine”.

As a result of the discussion of the project proposal on modernization of Kherson and Skadovsk sea ports on the conditions of public-private partnership prepared by the Academy it was initiated creation of a new transport corridor Klaipeda-Belarus-Kherson-Trabzon-Georgia-Baku.

January 19, 2018On January 17, 2017 at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine took place presentation of the proposal on the implementation of public-private partnership of the project “Modernization of port infrastructure of Kherson and Skadovsk Sea Trade Ports”. It is already the second presentation of the proposal prepared by the Academy of Public-Private Partnership in cooperation with Law firm “JurEnergoConsulting” andsubmitted by its initiator – the Group of Companies “Sodruzhestvo” for the consideration of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. The first one took place in theLithuanian Embassy in Ukraine in December 2017. The project was presented by General director of the Group of Companies ” Sodruzhestvo” V. Popov and the head of the project preparation team professor, doctor of economic science I. Zatatrina.
